Our philosophy is to offer customers the lowest possible prices for our products. Since form of payment significantly affects our actual cost, we offer discounts for forms of payment that are less costly for us to accept. Customers may choose the form of payment that suits their needs.
Web price: Prices shown on our Web site are our discount prices for credit-card or debit-card prepayment. We also offer an additional 3% "cash price" discount for wire transfer or other prepayment that avoids credit-card transaction fees.
SRP (Net terms price): We understand that many large corporate, government and educational institutions prefer to pay by net terms, such as Net 30. This common practice forces suppliers to finance orders to meet the convenience practices of the buyer, since suppliers must prepay the cost of the order. In effect, the supplier becomes both producer and financing firm, in some cases "financing on demand" orders costing tens of thousands of dollars. The only way suppliers can meet this burden is by artificially inflating their prices for all customers – or by setting separate pricing tiers for different forms of payment.
We have elected to make our finance cost explicit and optional, so customers can benefit from prepayment discounts and not pay for financing they do not require. This enables us to offer significant discounts for prepayment, while still enabling institutions requiring terms to purchase our products via their preferred supplier-financed model (net terms).
Pricing tiers and definition of Web prices
SRP: Suggested Retail Price. Customers paying by terms (Net 10 or Net 30) pay the SRP. If only the Web price is specified, the SRP can be calculated by multiplying the Web price by 1.1 (adding 10% to the Web price).
Web price: "Web price" reflects a 9.091% discount for prepayment by credit card or debit card, our most common payment method. Web price is available for phone, email, fax and Internet orders prepaid by credit card or personal check.
Cash price: Customers may receive an additional 3% discount off the Web price when paying via wire transfer, money order, cashier's check or company check. This discount reflects our avoiding the cost of credit-card transaction fees. No cash discount is offered for personal checks.
Zenview price volatility and our promise of "everyday low prices"
As of February 2005, we have instituted a new "everyday low price" policy for Zenview displays. We would like to offer customers the lowest possible price on any given day, based on our LCD supply costs at that moment.
This policy may cause volatility in pricing, as prices rise and fall in response to our supply costs.
We believe that this is the best way we can bring maximum value and discounts to our customers. Rather than set an arbitrarily high price to ride through supply cost volatility, we will deliver to our customers the maximum discounts possible on any given day.
In return, we ask that customers not request "last week's price" when buying, or request "this week's price" a week after they have received their display. We also will generally avoid scheduled sales in the future, as the price on any day is already the best value that we can offer.
Forms of payment
Credit card: We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Other prepayment options: We also accept prepayment by check, money order or wire transfer. Personal and company checks must clear before shipment. (See "Order ship date" for further details.)
Net terms: Limited terms (Net 10 or Net 30, at our discretion) are offered only to approved companies. A credit application may be required. First orders from a new company may require that the terms be secured with a credit card. The credit card will be authorized but not charged, assuming prompt payment per terms. Note that orders requiring terms will not receive our standard prepayment discount. (See "Pricing tiers and definition of Web prices.")
COD: Due to past customer abuses, we can no longer accept COD (cash on delivery).
Order ship date
Credit-card orders generally ship within one week of order.
Other prepaid orders: Orders paid by wire transfer, money orders, cashier's check, company check and personal check generally ship within one week of funds clearing our account. (Note: please allow five business days for personal and company checks to clear our account. Wire transfers, money orders and cashier's checks typically clear our account on the next business day after receipt.)
Non-prepaid orders: Orders with a request for net terms are accepted only at our discretion and are not guaranteed to ship within one week of order. Please contact us to confirm our acceptance of your order and to obtain your estimated shipment date, which may vary from order to order. The estimated ship date may be affected by prepaid orders, to which we give priority. Only prepaid orders can be guaranteed a ship date at time of order.
Volume orders may not ship within one week of order. Please contact us to obtain an estimated ship date.
Shipping, handling and insurance
Digital Tigers uses the following standard shipping methods for U.S. shipments:
Stratosphere workstations: FedEx Express Saver
SideCars: FedEx Express Saver
Zenview displays: UPS or FedEx Ground
Combination of displays and workstations: FedEx Express Saver
Customers are charged a shipping fee that includes our shipping cost estimate from the courier, shipping insurance for the courier, and a handling fee. Prior to purchase, every customer may receive on request a binding quote that includes shipping charges.
International orders will be charged at UPS, DHL or FedEx international rates, plus a flat $50 international handling charge (see "International orders" below).
It is the customer's responsibility to examine packages on delivery by the courier and to refuse shipment if any box arrives with obvious damage. Failure to do so greatly complicates and weakens our recourse with the courier for insurance damage claims, and thus delays our remedy to the customer in the case of shipping damage.
FedEx Express Saver typically delivers in two to three business days within the continental U.S.
Standard UPS ground shipping times from date of shipment:
Stratosphere, Zenview and volume SideCar orders are final
Stratosphere and Zenview orders, and orders of two or more SideCars (volume SideCar orders), are final and non-refundable at time of order. These products are built-to-order (with components supplied on demand) and thus cannot simply be canceled or returned. Any exception to this policy is at the sole discretion of Digital Tigers, and a restocking fee always applies.
Reseller / distributor orders are final
Any discount reseller / distributor orders are always final and non-refundable at time of order, including SideCar orders.
Seven-day full SideCar satisfaction guarantee
All individual SideCar orders (quantity one) are backed by a seven (7) day satisfaction guarantee for direct U.S. customers, with limitations specified here:
Period of seven days begins on day of system arrival at customer address and ends at 5 pm ET seven calendar days later.
To qualify for return under this guarantee, customer must call Digital Tigers and receive an RMA (return merchandise authorization) number during the seven-day period.
Customer must then return the system to Digital Tigers for arrival no later than seven (7) calendar days after the day the RMA is issued.
Original customer shipping charge is not refundable.
SideCars purchased through resellers are not returnable to Digital Tigers.
For credit card orders, a 5% transaction fee will be charged to cover our nonrefundable credit-card transaction charges.
For full refund, customer must:
return all original parts, cables, manuals and software
return the system chassis in new (unscratched/dented) condition
pack the system using the original white inner shipping box and padding
pack the inner shipping box in an outer shipping box with padded liner/packing material
insure the shipment for the cost of the sale
pay the expense of shipping
Returns that fail to meet these conditions are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
No returns accepted after 30 days from sale. Systems with physical damage (scratches, dents, water damage, etc.) are not eligible for refund.
All individual SideCar orders (quantity one) are backed by a thirty (30) day extended satisfaction guarantee, with limitations specified here:
Period of 30 days begins on day of system arrival at customer address and ends at 5 pm ET 30 calendar days later.
To qualify for return under this guarantee, customer must call Digital Tigers and receive an RMA (return merchandise authorization) number during the 30-day period.
Customer must then return the system to Digital Tigers for arrival no later than seven (7) calendar days after the day the RMA is issued.

USA warranty
All SideCar and Stratosphere systems are backed by a one-year limited, non-transferrable warranty covering parts and labor of repairs for 12 months after date of purchase.
Three-year extended warranties (two additional years) are available for Stratosphere systems, as an option at time of system purchase.
Zenview displays carry a standard three-year parts-and-labor limited warranty. For Samsung-branded LCD panels (the majority of our LCD panels), warranty support may be obtained through Digital Tigers or directly through Samsung. For Samsung and LG.Philips OEM LCD panels (sold under private labels such as Dell or HP), warranty support for the LCD panels may be provided only by the monitor brand. Warranty support for the display stand is provided by Digital Tigers.
Unless a premium support plan has been elected by the customer, standard warranty service requires the customer to pay for shipping and insurance to return products for warranty service. Under standard warranty terms, Digital Tigers pays for return shipping and insurance to customer using ground freight.
Warranty is voided for customer negligence (evidenced by physical damage to the system). Warranty is also voided if customer opens the SideCar system (which is sealed with tamper-proof screws). Warranty is limited to customers residing in the United States. Other limitations apply.
International orders
We accept a large volume of international orders, but may decline such orders at our discretion on a case-by-case basis.
Free international power cables: Our major product lines (Stratosphere computers, Zenview displays, SideCars) can be shipped with the appropriate local power cables for the customer's country, at no extra charge. Be sure to verify availability of these cables for your country at time of order. However, certain external accessories (notably, speakers) are available only with U.S. power cables. If in doubt, ask if an external accessory has an available local power cable option.
Our standard Stratosphere computer keyboards use a U.S.-style layout, but customers are free to replace these keyboards with their own preferred type. (Customers can delete the standard keyboard/mouse set at time of order, generally for a $75 credit.) A multi-lingual interface for Windows XP can be installed on request for Stratosphere computers, at no extra charge when requested at time of order.
Note also the following changes in terms for international orders:
International orders charged to a credit card must clear (be credited to our accounts) prior to shipment. This takes about four business days, and is required to reduce fraud risk. For faster shipment, we recommend payment via wire transfer, which generally credits our account by the next business day.
Shipping charge is our actual UPS / DHL / FedEx international shipping charge, plus a $50.00 handling surcharge (total per order) to cover international customs paperwork and related insurance.
Any local taxes or import duties are the responsibility of the customer to pay. For example, U.K. customers are normally charged VAT by the U.K. authority, but not import duties on our products. These taxes and fees are not part of the Digital Tigers charge, but rather are charged separately by the customer's government at time of delivery.
There is no seven-day SideCar satisfaction guarantee on international orders.
The standard 30-day extended SideCar satisfaction guarantee is honored for international orders, with the standard restocking fee of 20%. Shipping and handling is not refundable.
SideCar and Stratosphere systems have a one-year limited international warranty (parts and labor), with the same limitations as the USA warranty. However, international customers must pay for shipping in both directions for warranty repairs.
Zenview displays have a three-year limited international warranty (parts and labor) for the LCD panels, with the same limitations as the USA warranty. Warranty support for the LCD panels is handled by Samsung or the appropriate LCD manufacturer, and may be serviced at any authorized international service center. Warranty support for Zenview display stands is handled exclusively in the U.S. by Digital Tigers, and the stands carry a one-year limited international warranty (parts and labor). International customers must pay for shipping in both directions for Zenview display stand warranty repairs.
Note: We cannot accept international orders without prior payment.
Component upgrades and substitution
At its discretion, Digital Tigers reserves the right to substitute product components of greater quality, capacity or performance than the product components as specified on our Web site. This right is normally exercised only during product generation upgrades on the component level, such as when Samsung upgrades a given LCD panel type to new and improved specifications, or Intel updates a motherboard with new and improved chipset. While we endeavor to update our Web site promptly during such changes, it is inevitable that some upgrades will occur without prior notice.
We promise that any such changes are always to the customer benefit (in terms of quality, capacity or performance), or at least neutral in benefit. In no case will a component of inferior quality be provided as substitute, unless the customer is contacted and the specific change is disclosed in advance. In addition, the brand of component will never be changed without explicit notice to the customer.
Price changes; pricing and factual accuracy
Every attempt has been made to ensure the accuracy of pricing and factual information presented on this site. However, prices are subject to change without notice, and rare pricing errors may occur on this site. Similarly, inadvertent factual errors may occur on this site. Digital Tigers will not be held responsible for such errors. However, we will take prompt action to correct any errors that are brought to our attention.
