*How to protect your Stratosphere workstation: UPS best practices
Use this UPS to ensure your Stratosphere warranty covers power problems. As of 12/7/05, purchase and use of this Tripp Lite OMNIVS1500XL UPS system, or preapproved alternative, is required for your Stratosphere workstation warranty to cover power-related problems, such as a dead power supply or dead motherboard traced to power input quality problems. Such problems may otherwise be considered customer negligence.
Plug in only your Stratosphere workstation and primary LCD screen into this UPS. This UPS has been carefully selected to match the power requirements of powerful Stratosphere workstations. You will cause permanent damage to your computer if you plug in too many devices to this UPS and overload it beyond specifications. The UPS will be incapable of delivering proper power to your Stratosphere workstation, which can cause catastrophic failure, permanent damage, and data loss.
Plug this UPS directly into a wall outlet. Don't plug it into another device, such as a surge suppressor or outlet strip, which can cause disturbances in the AC line and induce failure in the UPS circuitry.
Keep local AC circuit load clean. Avoid putting other high-demand devices on the same electrical circuit, especially appliances, heaters, laser printers, laser copiers, motors and high-wattage lamps. If you can dedicate the circuit to your workstation, this is ideal.
